Sign Posting on The Mardi Himal trek

FULLY FUNDED

The Environment is key for sustainable and healthy life in the valleys, locals literally live and eat from Nature being this their main source of food and work. Nepal has increasingly grown in the touristic secotr and attracts every year thousands of adventerous trekkers to climb it's beautiful mountains. With the increase of visitors the beautiful treks around the valleys have started to see the consequencies, positive and negative. The positive being that the increase of the tourism sector has give the opportunity to the people from the valley to start small new business providing lodging and food and allowing them to stay in the valley rather than having to leave to the big cities. We start to see not only foreign tourists but residents from Nepal wanting to discover their own country. This increase in number of visitors has had, unfortunately some negative impact in the environment leaving the wonderful jungle and forest many times dirty with litter.

We believe education is all, and many people might not realise or consider the fact that most of the litter does not simply disappear or desintegrate from planet earth, so we decided to start reminding people of how important it is to keep the path you walk on clean and unspoiled. The simple act of adding Signs along some of our most beautiful trek, The Mardi Himal Trek near Sidhing and Machappucahre (By the way, a highly recommended trek if you have never been, find out more by clicking here), has helped us keep the valley clean and unspoiled.
